About Hester's Livestock

Hester’s Livestock has been breeding Simmental cattle for over 28 years and in the cattle business for nearly 70 years.  With a focus on performance, our cattle represent a lifelong commitment to producing superior Simmental genetics. 

A large majority of our herd today is red with a small percentage of black females.   With strict performance standards, we have been able to keep our birth weight average below 70 lbs while maintaining significant weaning and yearling weights.

We expect a lot out of our cows with many in production well over 10 years in the herd.  Our cows have volume, depth of rib, excellent legs, exceptional milking ability, great disposition and eye appeal, raising calves that create value for producers. 

Our embryo transfer program has been used to maximize production of superior genetics out of our donor females.  Many of our cow families, represented by these genetics, have 4-5 generations producing in the herd.

Our herd bull production represents a cornerstone of our program with demand from cattlemen for Red Simmental bulls that can be used on first calf heifers and cows.  Our bulls produce; low birth weight, high growth calves that add value and profitability.
